Getting Here In The Winter Months

The Home Ranch is located just 18 miles North of Steamboat Springs, CO and Steamboat Ski Area, an easy drive from both town and the slopes. Steamboat is one of the most conveniently located ski resorts in Colorado and is accessible by non-stop flights from 9 major cities in the U.S. on 6 major airlines: American Airlines, Continental, Delta, Northwest, United and Frontier.

If you are coming to The Home Ranch for a winter vacation from outside of Colorado, we recommend you fly directly into Steamboat Springs Airport (HDN) and leave the winter driving to us. We love to pick up our guests at the airport.

Commuter flights fly regularly from (HDN) to Denver (DIA), so if you cannot find a direct flight to (HDN) from your city, you can always arrange for a flight from DIA to HDN and avoid winter mountain driving conditions from Denver.

You can fly directly into the Steamboat Springs, CO Airport (HDN) and a driver from The Home Ranch will pick you and your bags up at your gate.

You can fly into Denver and either take the ground shuttle or rent a car, but mountain driving conditions can be difficult.

Take Alpine Taxi From Denver If You Don't Want To Drive

If you don't want to drive from Denver (DIA), we recommend that you take Alpine Taxi, a shuttle service that goes directly from DIA to Steamboat Springs. Alpine will drop you off in Steamboat Springs and a drive from the ranch will meet you when you arrive.

Driving Directions to The Home Ranch from Denver International Airport.

• From Denver International Airport drive west on I-70 to Dillon/Silverthorne (approx. 70 miles).
• Exit here and turn right onto Route 9 north. Take Route 9 to Kremmling (approx. 40 miles).
• In Kremmling turn left onto US 40 west and follow it to Steamboat Springs (approx. 50 miles).
• Drive through Steamboat Springs, 1.5 miles past downtown you will come to a stoplight (7-Eleven is on the right).
• Make a right at the light onto County Road 129/Elk River Road.
• Continue north to Clark, about 18 miles. The Home Ranch is 1/4 mile past the Clark General Store on the right hand side of the road.
• Driving time from Denver International Airport is approximately 4 hours.

The great weather of summer gives you several options to get to the ranch assuming you fly into Denver. It is easy to rent a car and make the 4 hour drive through the mountains to the ranch. The advantages to this option are that you travel through a beautiful part of our state and you have a car for the week. Some guests even prefer to fly into Denver on Friday night or Saturday before their Sunday arrival to help acclimate to the elevation. Another option is to fly into Denver and take the ground shuttle to Steamboat Springs; the ranch will pick you up in town and bring you to the ranch.

Probably the easiest way to get here is to fly into the Hayden Airport (HDN) outside of Steamboat Springs, about 45 - 50 minutes from the ranch. We offer a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport. We have several flights a day but you might have to wait several hours in Denver to make the connection.
