Tammy PateYour Exclusive Invitation for the Week

Whether you've been riding all your life, or you've always wanted to ride, this innovative clinic will give you the tools, guidance, and support to move beyond your mental and physical limitations and realize your very best riding.

Ride Beyond the Boundaries

This is a once in a lifetime experience that gives you the chance to ride in the spectacular wilderness of Northwestern Colorado's Elk River Valley, unfettered, unbounded, and free while being absolutely pampered by the exceptional Western hospitality of our celebrated Relais and Chateaux dude ranch.

What is Equestrian Yoga?

An integral and flowing Hatha Yoga that addresses the specific needs of the equestrian body. This practice brings the rider to a more balanced state of being and communicates a gentle strength that horses respond to naturally. Horse and rider connect with a deeper understanding and level of trust.

TAMMY PATE - A Real Montana Cowgirl with the Heart of a Teacher

TAMMY PATE

"A cowgirl is not a western woman. A cowgirl is a spirit. She might be a business woman in Manhattan, but she has an inner quality that allows her to do something for no one else's reasons but her own..."

TAMMY'S BIO

Tammy Pate riding horse.Tammy Pate was literally raised on horseback. Born into a ranching family in Montana, her father was a rodeo steer wrestler who spent his free time teaching young Tammy and her sisters all he knew about horsemanship and riding. Her grandmother, Betty, instilled in her the deep values of the ranching life: a reverence for nature and the practical skills ranching families needed for the demands of their rural life. She married her husband, Curt Pate, who was then a rodeo announcer, and followed him into the demanding life of managing a cow camp. Together they developed innovative, gentle ways of training horses and managing livestock. During this time, she raised her own children, literally, in the saddle, carrying them with her on horseback to work with Curt in the field.

THE INTUITIVE HORSEMANSHIP RETREAT

Though Tammy and her family have been conducting retreats at The Home Ranch for many years, it was when Tammy and Janice met at the Circle J Horse Sanctuary in Hawaii that they decided to create this once in a lifetime retreat at The Home Ranch. About this unique retreat, Tammy said, "everything in life prepares you for what you will become." She is genuinely excited to have the opportunity to share her experience and love of the horses with the women who will attend this retreat.

JANICE BAXTER ON EQUESTRIAN YOGA

Janice Baxter and horse. For me, yoga is a way of being centered and at one with the inner and outer worlds. It enhances the union of mind, body, heart, and spirit with nature. Hatha yoga is a practice of conscious breathing (pranayama) and physical positions (asanas) that tones the nervous system, improves circulation, calms the mind, increases flexibility and strength, reduces stress, enhances awareness, and inspires inner peace.

I teach Integral Hatha Yoga in a comfortable flowing style that addresses specific needs of the equestrian body, and offers challenges to all levels of students. Each class is light hearted and designed to bring deeper awareness into every breath, movement, intention, reaction and feeling. The body is a doorway to expand mental abilities, enhance spiritual awareness and channel emotions.

In this heightened state of being, we communicate a gentle strength that horses respond to naturally. The horse and rider connect with a deeper understanding and level of trust. The horse welcomes a balanced, relaxed, clear-intentioned person and enters into the sense of union, becoming one with the rider.

I am honored to share this work with you,
Namaste` and Aloha,

Janice

JANICE BAXTER'S BIO

Janice Baxter practices yoga.Janice Baxter began practicing Integral Hatha Yoga and Transcendental Meditation in 1971, when she entered the University of Hawaii at Manoa. While completing a BA in Psychology and a Masters of Social Work degree, Janice used the skills of relaxation, centering, balance, focus and affirmative thinking. As a Social Worker, she continued to study holistic health, became a licensed massage therapist, taught yoga, and integrated metaphysical practices into her professional and personal life.

Janice has developed the 'Ohana 'Aina program for Queen Lili'uokalani Children's Center, the Relax and Balance program at the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel Spa, and Golfin Dolphin, the Inner Game of Golf program offered privately.

Her love of horses since childhood has inspired Janice to explore the principles of metaphysical practice integrated with horsemanship skills. The collaborative effort to develop intuitive horsemanship clinics utilizing yoga practices continues to be a fascinating creative process. The experience of yoga conscious breathing, balancing and centering while riding, brings a sense of union and peace with her self, horse, and nature.

Presently, Janice lives in Keauhou on the Big Island where she teaches and has a private holistic health therapy practice
