Home Ranch Dining
The Home Ranch dining room combines the style and warmth of western ranch tradition with the quality and charm of Relais & Chateaux. Our meals are served family style at long oak tables. Our ranch becomes a community each week and sharing our incredible meals and experiences together is part of the tradition. There is opportunity to make new friends in a relaxed and easy environment. We host a diverse group of folks from all over the world who all enjoy the mountains, nature, ranch life, and community. For the town folk, Steamboat Springs is just a short drive away and has a lot to offer during your Colorado Dude Ranch vacation.
Our Chef and Our Philosophy
Head Chef Clyde Nelson has been with the Home Ranch for more than 15 years. His creations have been written up in Bon Appetite, Food and Wine, Gourmet Magazine and many other culinary publications. Clyde's kitchen specializes in using only the freshest natural ingredients. All our breads and pastries are made from scratch daily and our kitchen team is dedicated to meeting your dietary requirements.
Summer Dining
It's easy to eat healthy with the many choices we offer at every Home Ranch meal. Breakfast features an extensive buffet of fruit and pastries with hot entrees made to order from the kitchen. Espressos and lattes are also very popular. Lunch is served off the grill, poolside whenever possible, and that is about 99% of the time! The lunch buffet has an exhaustive variety of fresh salads every day, several selections from the grill, and delectable desserts. Dinner is a wonderful and varied experience here at Home Ranch. Some nights are formal multi-course occasions in the dining room, and other nights we enjoy the beauty of nature in a special place on the ranch. Saturday night's campfire is the highlight of the week when we share marvelous food and the experiences of the week.
Winter Dining
In the winter, a roaring fire and the smell of fresh pastries welcome you into the dining room. Hot breakfast is a must for a long day of Colorado skiing or snowshoeing, and the Home Ranch does it up right with a fruit and pastry buffet and hot dishes to order from the kitchen. Lunches are exceptional, with a variety of salads and soups in addition to a hot entree choice. Breakfast and lunch also serve as planning sessions when our cross-country guides talk to you about options for the day. At dinner, we prepare a 4-course meal complemented by our complete wine list. The evening meal is a relaxed affair for sharing tales about the events of the day around our long tables. Conversation might be about a great ski run, a quiet snowshoe, a terrific spill, or a wonderful sleigh ride. There are no hassles, no long lines and no reservations! The Home Ranch does carry a liquor license, and now offers a selection of fine wine and beer to complement your meal.
