Colorado Winter Vacation

Although The Home Ranch becomes a cross country ski resort during the winter months, we offer our guests all kinds of wintry alternatives to cross country skiing. So on the days you happen to get tired of skiing, don't want to ski, or don't ski period, we've got snowshoeing, sleigh rides, winter horseback riding and tubing on the ranch. If you like to snowmobile, we can take you out to Steamboat Lake Outfitters, one of Colorado's main snowmobiling destinations by Hahn's Peak. As an Orvis endorsed lodge, fly fishing is always an option as well. The Yampa river in Steamboat has open water all winter long - or you can try your luck on the Elk River before it blows out in March.

If all these sports seem too exhausting, you can treat yourself to the less strenuous activities we offer. Indulge yourself with a cup of tea in front of the fireplace, browse through our library with its comfy couches, soak in the private hot tub on your cabin porch, or melt into a massage. And if shopping is what you're after, you'll enjoy the ranch's Mustang Mercantile or the bustling town of Steamboat.
