Autumn comes early to The Home Ranch and brings a sublime, golden season to the Elk River Valley. It is a slower-paced time of year, when kids have all returned to school, and the atmosphere at the ranch beckons to adult travelers who have time to savor the season, sans kiddos.
The days are crisp, clear, and golden; the aspen groves shimmer with inner light, and the fly fishing is exceptional. It is a prime time for deep relaxation, serious leisure, long gourmet dinners, and crackling fires.
To take advantage of this special season, we structure unique September weeks to cater to the interests of the adult traveler. Please check out the offerings below and call us if you would like further clarification of each week's events.

Fall is the time of year when the slower pace of our historic ranching community slows a bit and allows us to truly enjoy our surroundings and neighbors. The days are crisp and clear, and the Aspen leaves often peak in late September. It is a prime time for deep relaxation, leisurely days, exceptional fly fishing, and long gourmet dinners...
To take advantage of this peaceful time of year we offer our guests the option of convenient four night stays. Of course once you get here you are free to extend your vacation for as long as you like. This is a great opportunity to taste all that our Colorado dude ranch has to offer, without the requirement of a seven night stay.
Fall Activities
Horseback riding through the golden aspen groves, as we bring in our sister ranch's cattle from their summer pasture, is a fall highlight. If horseback riding isn't for you, we'll take you on a guided hike to awe inspiring views and trails dusted in freshly fallen leaves. As an Orvis-endorsed fly fishing lodge, fly fishing the Elk River doesn't get any better. Or you may just want to sleep late, read a book by the fire, soak in the hot tub, and indulge in Chef Clyde's cuisine. It's a good time to relax and follow your bliss. Time is your servant, and the days are yours.
