Western Horseman, March 2007

Each spring and fall The Home Ranch hosts a retreat for women only, Experience Horsemanship and Yoga.  Fran Devereux Smith of Western Horseman attended last falls retreat and put her experience into words in the latest issue of the magazine.  Darrell Dodds was able to come for a couple of days and get some great photographs of the yoga retreat! It’s beginning to look a lot like winter!

As February begins to come to an end, winter has finally arrived.  Yesterday brought 5 inches of fresh powder to The Home Ranch ski trails and 15 – 20 inches of skiing enjoyment to some of the favorite off-ranch locations!  Randy is grooming the trails right now, for some of the best skiing of the season.  We still have room in March if you would like to sneak in a spring ski trip to Colorado.  We are all excited to get outside today and do some turns! Wild Weather!

What a winter we have had – record lows followed by record highs!  Today’s weather report seems to be typical for the season!  Highs in the teens, with a 80% chance of snow.  It started snowing early this morning and we now have about two inches of accumulation on the ground.  Share this:

Guest Photos

After our guests return home they often send us photos from their trip.  We would like to share some of those with you.  If you would like to share you memories with other Home Ranch fans, please email them to info@homeranch.com. Share this:

Annual Dude Ranch Association Convention

Last week Johnny, Eric and I attended the 81st annual Dude Ranch Association meeting held at Rancho De Los Caballeros in Wickenburg, Arizona. It was a great chance for all of us to take a break and get to know our fellow dude rancher’s a little better. You may be asking yourself, “What do you do at a DRA convention?” Well, the answer is simple – you attend board meetings, have breakout sessions, visit other DRA ranches, and have fun! I was able to attend meetings on marketing, labor laws, media relations, jewelry and employee relations. Share this:
